The Clean Slate and Kathy Hamilton will form a new majority or reform at COD. The insiderism and outrageous spending will end. Our community will see its values on COD’s board.
I was born and raised in Villa Park. I returned to Elmhurst to raise my family. I would not be where I am today without my education; affordable education and training is vital. COD was an educational opportunity for me, my friends, family, neighbors and thousands of others in DuPage County.
I graduated from Boston University (double major: Chemistry, Political Science) using college credit from COD. After graduating from the George Washington University law school, I built a successful law practice that has grown from 3 to over 70 employees in the last 10 years. I am also a co-founder of several other small businesses. Let me put what I have learned to work at COD.
COD’s Board of Trustees needs a fresh pair of eyes to review many things, and particularly should freeze any future tax or tuition hikes until all of COD’s financial practice and compliance issues leading to any allegations of fraud or abuse are reviewed and resolved. Trustees must exercise real oversight over how taxpayer dollars are raised, spent and directed to ensure we deliver high value to the community.
COD has had a strong reputation, and it needs to remain an outstanding institution and educational opportunity for students. We can turn this around; we just need good people on the Board to do it.
